Genesis

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Trichy started functioning in the year 1966 near Kajamalai Kinder Garten with five sections totally from class I to V. It was shifted to Tennur –behind Hindi Prachar Sabha when classes VI to IX were functioning with one section each.
Later the school was shifted to Ordnance Factory Campus and was functioning in a temporary factory building just opposite to Ordnance Factory , Trichy.
The land was allotted to KV No.1 by OFT , Trichy for the construction of New building in the year 1970-71 and the construction work started in 1972 , The school started functioning in its own building in 1972.
